WHAT IS THE NDIS?

National Disability Insurance Scheme (NDIS) is an organization that is implemented by the NDIA (which is an independent statutory Agency) which supports individuals with a significant and permanent disability, their families and carers. It allows those who qualify, to access funded supports that are based on their needs. The funding provided allows individuals to live an independent life regardless of their disability.

Every NDIS participant has an individual plan that lists their goals and the funding they receive. Participants use their funding to purchase supports and services that will help them achieve their goals.

WHO CAN ACCESS THE NDIS SUPPORT?

Anyone between the ages of 7 and 65 with a permanent or significant disability who is an Australia citizen or permanent resident or citizen of New Zealand who holds a Protected Special Category visa.
